Rhys T. Eyton: - Chairman of the BoardMr. Eyton is a corporate director and currently serves as a director of the Vancouver International Airport Authority, Trimac Transportation Services Inc., and as a trustee of Trimac Income Fund and the Canadian Hotel Income Properties Real Estate Investment Trust. He has previously served on numerous corporate boards including Clarica Life Insurance Company, Brascan Ltd., IBM Canada Ltd., WIC - Western International Communications Ltd., and Prudential Steel Ltd. Mr. Eyton Served as Chairman and Executive Officer of Canadian Airlines International from 1987 to 1989 at which time he became Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer and director of both the airline and the holding company in 1995.
Mr. Eyton also served as interim President and CEO of Canadian Hotel Income Properties Real Estate Investment Trust from 1999 to 2000. Mr. Eyton obtained a Business Administration degree from the University of Western Ontario, and an Honorary Doctor of Laws from the University of Victoria and is a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Ian H. Stewart: - Chairman of the Executive CommitteeMr. Stewart is a graduate of the University of British Columbia with a BA and LLB degrees and an Honorary Doctor of Laws from the University of Victoria. He is a member in good standing of the Law Society of British Columbia and is a Queens Counsel. He is a former alderman of the City of Victoria, a former member and longtime Chair of the Board of Governors of the University of Victoria and an Honorary Patron of the University of Victoria. He is currently a director of the British Columbia Achievement Foundation and a director of Jace Holdings Limited doing business as Thrifty Foods of Victoria, the largest food retailer on Vancouver Island, B.C. He is a past president of the BC Automobile Dealers Association.
Mr. Stewart's long record of service as an advisor to government as well as service as a director of many Canadian companies such as CanWest Gas Supply, Yorkshire Trust Company, Rogers Media Limited and Rogers Communications Inc, combines a 46 year career in both law and business. He is also a well known community leader in Victoria and has been actively involved with many charitable and philanthropic organizations.
Robin French: - Compensation CommitteeMr. French has a long and distinguished career in television production and the motion picture industry. He attended the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, California, is a Member at Large, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and has an Honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corps. His career began as the co-founder of The Hugh French Agency Inc and later he became the Executive Vice President of Chartwell Artists Ltd. For three movies, most notably "Blade Runner" ,staring Harrison Ford, he was associated as an executive of the production team. He also served as the VP in charge of domestic production for Paramount Pictures.
Mr. French was Vice Chairman of Hal Roach Studios Inc., and later became a partner in HR Broadcasting Corporation and its successor company, Hark Television Corporation. He has a successful background in syndication and licensing with HG Associates, Inc. and co-promoted the "World Heavy Weight Championship" between Mohammed Ali and Joe Frazier. This array of experience comprises a diverse background in the entertainment and motion picture industry.
Jim Reed: - Chair of Audit CommitteeMr. Reed is the principal of two management-consulting firms, JH Reed & Associates, Ltd., specializing in governance and strategy, and Synachor Management Inc., which concentrates on business development, strategy, marketing, and change. His clients include a wide range of public and private organizations, such as major crown corporations, universities, colleges, and national companies in the retail and service sectors. Since 1999 he has been a senior advisor on strategy for the CEO of Hudson's Bay Company. He has assisted these organizations by developing strategies to improve capacity, sustainability, and market position. In addition, Mr. Reed provides strategic advice to corporations interested in major sponsorship opportunities with domestic or international sporting events.
Most recently he has negotiated sponsorship deals, valued in excess of $100 Million, to the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. He has also held executive positions for organizations in the education and training, and international sporting fields. As a director, he sits on several boards for domestic and international sport organizations, national foundations, and community service organizations. He provides volunteer advice to several non-profit organizations, at the provincial and national level, in areas of governance, strategic business planning, marketing and charitable giving. In addition, he is well known for actively supporting many charitable causes in the community. He holds a BA, social work and political science, and a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Victoria.
David H. McMillan: - Board MemberMr. McMillan is the recently retired Chief Executive Officer of Island Farms Dairies Ltd., a position he held for 14 years. He attended the University of British Columbia and has accumulated over 30 years experience as a senior executive in organization and management in the packaged food industry and as the Chief Executive Officer of a number of significant Canadian companies including Associated Biscuits of America and William Nielson Limited. Currently Mr. McMillan serves on the board of Jace Holdings Limited doing business as Thrifty Foods, the largest food retailer on Vancouver Island, B.C. He also serves on the boards of a number of cultural and charitable boards in Victoria. Brent Sternig, M.B.A: - Secretary, Board Member
Mr. Sternig is the Associate Vice-President at Innovation and Development Corporation, the industry liaison office for the University of Victoria. He has over 18 years of business experience in the areas of high-tech sales and marketing and over 9 years experience directly in the field of technology transfer and start-up enterprise management. Intellectual property management (Patents, Trademarks, and Copyright), software licensing, strategic planning, marketing research, new venture development, and financing are just some of the areas of expertise Mr. Sternig brings to DataUnison.
